Empowering Women Through Craft:
The Story of Naari Shakti
Naari Shakti is a women-led collective based in Okhla Basti, supported by the NGO Each One Teach One. We began with a small group of women making macramé affirmation bracelets — each one designed around a word of strength and made by hand. The goal was simple: to help women learn a skill, earn an income, and take ownership of their work.
Since then, Naari Shakti has grown. Today, we make tassels for bags and accessories, napkin rings, and other handcrafted items. We also work with designers and small businesses who want to collaborate with us.
Every piece made at Naari Shakti contributes directly to a woman’s income, confidence, and ability to support her family. This is about consistent work, fair pay, and building a community where women uplift women, where every success is shared, and every challenge is faced together.
